-

//edit ReN : edited title to use this a consolidation thread
-
Same problem, anyone know of a fix?
-
New update just broke ScripthookV
-
if you have backup GTA5.exe version 1.0.1737.0 you can move newest update 1.0.1737.6 somewhare as backup and replace newest version with with those previous version, or wait until scripthookv to be update to detect newest version gta5.exe 1.0.1737.6

I'm happy to report just restoring GTA5.exe and GTAVlauncher.exe (in this particular case) works flawlessly.
There's a 2-bytes filesize difference in update.rpf files, but OpenIV didn't even balk over it.

Restoring the older GTA5.exe and GTAVLauncher.exe works for me as well, except that the game will only run for ~ 10-30 minutes before it CTD without any error messages other than the game didn't exit cleanly pop up. R* messing things up again.
-
Guys, try reverting to the previous .exe versions (if you have them) and run the launcher only to make a "handshake" contact with Co... Rockstar's servers. Then, you can run offline again. Repeat when needed. I still play 1.1604.0 this way, all the time.
This, however, works only for the retail (7 CD) version, mind you.

Feels unrelated. If you restored the exe, no changes will be in effect. I've just been building in GTA V, for several hours straight, without a single crash (with the restored exe).
-
I think the crashing is related - I started modding again recently after getting a new GPU and GTA V seemed to be working fine then yesterday or day before I would get around 30 mins of play before CTD without no error. Tried a few things then went totally vanilla and it was still crashing. Read about people having the same issue and a good few reddit posts later I thought it could be a game problem.
Launcher updates then not long after a 1gb+ file update then no more crashing - I left Micheal standing in his drive way and no crash. I will wait till Scripthook gets updated and head back in - for now I will just carry on playing through SP missions for the 100th time
Never know could still crash but this is what I've seen over past few days. Could have been new launcher running in background causing the game to CTD.

Already have a date for the release of the SHV update?
-
i'l just Wait
-
I have my GTA V reverted back to 1.0.1493.1 and I've had no issues. Had on for about an hour with no crashes, but will try to see if I run into any crashing issues for any extended playing.

@Solhaboy187 can youy share your exe file so we can use these ??
-
@Solhaboy187: Maybe you can share the older version of Script Hook V and the gtalauncher + gta.exe?!?
Thx a lot!!!
-
No sharing of original game files. Stop asking.
-
@ReNNie Sorry!!!
-
@ReNNie Could I ask what´s so bad about sharing a old version Launcher and exe file which should "only" be downgrading the current GTA 5 so that this craploaded Rockstar launcher disappears? IF that really works...
-
Sorry guys, in a perfect world I would. But 1. Against the rules and 2. Kinda considered pirating. Again sorry. But you should be able to download an older version of scripthook. Community Scripthook V .Net looks like it has a file back from September 2018.
Also update:
After playing heavily with mods (Old version of Menyoo, Skin Control, a bunch of animation and action scripts, lots of skin swaps and playing with Reshade) for about 3 hours I haven't run into a single issue of crashing. Can also confirm no issues in Rockstar Editor too. So if you can find a older .exe and launcher out there somewhere, you should be good to go.
-
Does anyone know when the new version of Scripthook V is coming out?
-
Going back to my above post - See this thread if your experiencing crashing - this happens to me - I go back on my word I'm still getting crashes with same error code
https://gtaforums.com/topic/934020-gta-v-crashes-with-error-code-0xc0000005-help/I thought it could be my controller as I've read that xbox one controllers can cause a CTD anyway sorry to stray off topic

@Solhaboy187 How are you bypassing rockstar launcher. I just wanna play the game.. message me
-
@master3596 I didn't need to bypass the launcher. When i started it up it went through the rockstar games launcher and then through steam.
However...
Looks like now i'm in the same boat as everyone else. Just tried to play again and it crashed as I was trying to load into SP. The Rockstar Games Launcher logs say it's the 0xc0000005 (3221225477) error code. So it falls in line with the same problem that @PracticallyGeek has/had. Nothing to suggest it's the older version's of the .exe's or ScirpthookV. Has to be the Rockstar Games Launcher because nothing changed from when I ran the game perfectly fine earlier to now. It must have downloaded or changed something as I was exiting because I can't for the life of me think of anything else. I doubt it has to with GPU drivers or Windows. Tried uninstalling the games launcher and reinstalling (btw it automatically updates to yesterdays build so no downgrading unfortunately). Even tried overwriting my old .exe's and update folder again. No dice. Looks like we just have to hope Rockstar see's the influx of trouble tickets and does something to patch it. I'm gonna try some other methods to try and get it to work again, but i'm afraid I may just have to wait and see if it get's patched again.

First of all: Hi, im the new one...
maybe this can help if you have no backup of your older files:
im running on WIN7 so WIN sets automaticly restorepoints with its updates.
If you didnt erease the last retsorepoints you can use rightclick on f.i. launcher, select properties or attributes (dont know exactly cause using german version...) and in the popup select restore older version.
WIN will search your restorepoints and offer older fileversions out of them.another tip for those who didnt think about this:
if you could restore and gain acces to your game again with this or other (upcoming) methodes,
the simplest way to prevent pereodly onlineconfirmation and loading unexpectet updates is to redate your system to the date of your last confirmation,
I do so since years and if there is an update i can check if scripthook etc. also is updated to avoid any trouble...maybe this could help someone
THX to 5mods, its community & to all the hardworking fancy modders for providing various offline-fun since years!
-
I forgot to remind if you redate before gamestart, dont forget to switch to windows to set the date back to current after the game is running, otherwise you confuse yourself with your saved games because you allways would use the same date of saving...
