How do I keep my current version without updates?

  • Got dammit man...stupid DLC update.
Sick of this DLC crap...how do i keep my current version???
I'm sick of these mod breaking updates and I'm sick of being at the mercy of the Scripthook author fixes to play my damn game.

I'm perfectly happy with my current modded GTA V folder.
Don't care about thier stupid DLC bikes or GTA Online at all.
Is offline mode possible on a legit Steam copy of the game or not?

  • Backup the following

    • GTA5.exe
    • GTAVLauncher.exe
    • ./update/update.rpf
    • ./Installers

Restore them after Steam updates your game to stay on the old version.

Do backup the new version in case you want to update.

  • @ikt

    Thanx alot!
Yea I saw SHV was updated but I'm sick of having my modded files tampered with by these forceful updates.
I like my handling and vehicle metas the way they are and I want them left alone.
Your transmisson mod is working perfectly in my pre updated build and I wanna keep it exactly the way it was running.
Sometimes mods just don't feel the same after updates even with new SHV.
Your transmission mod is dialed in great for me .

  • how can i back them up? I hate being forced to update as well but idk how to backup the .exe, launcher, or whatever else you said. i want to keep my shaders and all my cars.

  • @ikt
Can you go into more detail??

We we still need the latest scripthook?

  • @rastakilla
Not if you use an older game.

  • Ok figured it out...
    Back to my old build....

Sooo glad I made a backup of my current best build before the patch update

  • @rastakilla what did you have to do to do it?

Do you have a copy of the previous version folder???
    if not you're screwed

Do you happen to have a copy of these files from the stunts update? I didn't back mine up and now I'm having some frame rate issues with this newest update and my mods :S

  • @ikt Hey man, What do you mean by /installers ?

Edit: Nevermind. Must be a Steam thing.
