Can't find or add upgrades on the car I converted into an add on

Alright well I managed to convert a replaceable car into add on but however, I have this one issue where the upgrades don't appear on Los Santos Customs.even the paint job menu isn't even there.
is there a way that I can find it so I can be able to add them in for the car?
