Update.rpf help
-
I was modding and ended up getting something I don't like. I didn't back up my update.rpf file and need a clean copy of it for v1.0.1737.6. Can anybody help me?

@kwilliams We are not allowed to share vanilla game files. Next time use a mods folder and this wouldn't be an issue.
-
@kwilliams In addition I suggest to copy your complete gta folder (after a fresh, patched reinstall) on a second drive, to have a ressource for original gamefiles.
-
@Justme2000 No need to do that if using a mods folder correctly. Using a mods folder will keep your vanilla files safe if you need them.
-
@chonkie no need but its more safe. I dont trust me.
If i delete something wrong or overwrite. OpenV has no undo option.
I have also 2 game folder with modded and unmodded gta (starting by batchfiles) to be triple safe.

@Justme2000 Just a fyi, OpenIV has an option that will not allow you to modify vanilla files at all, only what is in the mods folder.

@chonkie Thanks, that was new for me and it was already checked. Now the editing feels much safer.. but i will keep my backups too.
