Up-to-date popgroups.ymt tutorial?
-
I can’t find a tutorial on how to edit the popgroups.ymt file to add add-on and Rockstar-made DLC cars to traffic without outdated, nonexistent files.
I have the following mods installed:
• Vanillaworks Extended Pack
• IVPack
• Dispatchworks PackI would like to have all the cars from those three mods, as well as the cars from Rockstar’s GTA Online DLCs, to spawn naturally in traffic. I’ve tried looking up tutorials, but all of them have files that aren’t available anymore, so I have no idea what to do.
Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated! 💙

there’s mods on this site that add dlc cars into traffic
-
@Reacon Can you link me to one of them (that works with the latest patch)?
By the way, I don’t just want the DLC cars to spawn in traffic. As mentioned, I also want the cars from the three car mods I’ve installed to spawn in traffic. They each come with a popgroups.ymt file that installs itself when you install the mod via OpenIV, but I need help figuring out how to combine the three of them so that all the cars from all three mods spawn in traffic, as well as the DLC cars.

@Dimentive https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/dlc-vehicles-spawn-on-traffic
works for me on latest patch and you can add addon cars in
-
@Reacon That mod requires “Spawn MP Vehicles in SP,” but that mod’s page says that it doesn’t work anymore and crashes the game.
What do I do then? Do I install “Add-On Vehicle Spawner” instead like Spawn MP Vehicles in SP’s page recommends?
Also, will I have to add every single car name from those three mods to the file manually? That’ll take a long time—plus, I don’t know the vehicle names. Is there no other way to do this?
Thanks for the help.

@Dimentive said in Up-to-date popgroups.ymt tutorial?:
Is there no other way to do this?
no, manual is the way to go
you could also compare the three individual popgroups.ymt (open in notepad to see what they add)
meanwhile you can pick which model you want to have spawn in which VEH_ CATEGORY
if you need the find the modelnames, open the dlcpack and look inside?

this is how I manage my own popgrous.ymt, keeping track which models from which dlcpack I add to it
notice the <-- zservice --> and <-- vanilla --> headers, very convient to use as search strings within the file
you can also easily exlude models by commenting them out without even removing the entry

<models>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

@ReNNie Thanks for the help! However, to save time and effort, I think I’ll just pick one of the three mods and use its popgroups.ymt instead.
I have a question, though: Is there a way to spawn the GTA Online DLC vehicles as well as the vehicles from one mod (e.g., Vanillaworks Extended Pack) without manual file editing? If not, I’m fine not having the DLC vehicles.
-
At the most everything rennie just said would take an hour (if you were a slow computer user)
-
@eleventwentytooo Okay, I’ll try doing it.
Do I just take one of the popgroups.ymt files, like the one for Vanillaworks Extended, and edit it, adding the

<Variations />

lines for each car in IVPack, Dispatchworks Pack, and Rockstar’s DLCs? Is that it, or is there more to it than that?
-
It’s not the same subject, ReNNie. I managed editing the popgroups.ymt file to add the add-on cars to traffic. Now I’m just wondering about the DLC cars. I’m not even sure if I have to edit the popgroups.ymt file for that. Although I suppose I could just use this thread.
-
I suppose you could just try things to see if it works?
yes, you can add the DLC cars in the same way to popgroups
just be sure you have a trainer/script that prevents the game from despawning the online cars
sjaak's Simple Trainer or ikt's Addon vehicle spawner eg
-
@ReNNie Thanks. Where do I find the popgroups.ymt entries for the DLC vehicles so I can add them?
Or do I just use “DLC/Add-On Vehicles Spawn on Traffic” plus one of those trainers? Will that work?
