How to change blood pool/splatter color?
-
Im learning modding.
-
change the colour of the blood texture
-
@Xranovision if you don't know where to look for these textures best thing to learn is download any blood pool mod and look what files are there and where are there located. Then you will know where to find the vanilla files which you need to recolor
-
@ArmaniAdnr Yeah the "decal mods" only includes bloodfx.dat/peddamage.dat... are there textures inside it? All i see is text and some configs. How do they change the textures through text?
-
@Reacon how tho 😕
-
@Xranovision by taking the texture out of the files and editing the colour in photoshop
-
@Reacon what files? You mean .dat? How? I though those things are just configs
-
@Xranovision one of the first 'blood' mods here which includes ytd file...
-
@Xranovision no, the .dat files don't contain any textures
i mean the texture files. search for them
-
@ArmaniAdnr @Reacon ohhhh. Ok so the blood textures is in the Update.rpf>x64>textures , ok i get it now. I was trying to edit Bravercoolio's Improvements In Gore to make the blood look more "red". Ok now the only problem is , how can i open an ytd file
-
@Xranovision in openiv..
-
@Reacon ok ill try it later
thanks for the tips guys @ArmaniAdnr
-
@Xranovision open in openiv (you can open vanilla one not modded one from link), just search in OpenIV for file with same name. Once you open it in OpenIV find which one textures you want edit, extract it in format which you like and edit using photoshop as Reacon mentioned
-
@ArmaniAdnr so i replaced the blood decals and the blood pool doesnt even show anymore , how do i do that. btw i changed the colors from white to red. am i supposed to do that??
-
@Xranovision you shoud check some tutorials for textures, I don't know which one are all textures for blood so can't tell you exact names and locations so you have to find them yourself and learn what is normal maps and specular maps coz you possibly changed color of one of these files what you can't do
-
Oh ok. Thanks , i thought it was just that easy like changing textures on SA. Turns out it was much more complicated than i expect ðŸ¤
