Removing radio and excess sounds
-
Is it possible to delete sounds in GTA5: radio, pedestrians, wind and much more, to reduce the size of the folder itself.
Previously, we did this in SAMP, and from 4 gigabytes the folder turned into 1.3 gigabytes.???

@es3rvake
Yeah, it's possibleBasic Process:
Use OpenIV to access (just about all of) the audio files here:
...\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64\audio\sfx
In the '.rpf' files ('RESIDENT.rpf' etc) are '.awc' audio container files & in them are the audio files themselves.
Right-click the '.awc' > 'Export to openformats (.oac)' to extract them to an editable format ('.oac' file & folder with some '.wav's in it).
Edit the '.wav' files in the folder that appears & then drag the '.oac' back into original '.awc' location using OpenIV to install.

@a63nt-5m1th Tell me, do I need to upload "WAV" back?
Or can I also "wma" ?

@es3rvake
I'm pretty sure it needs to be 16-bit PCM .wav's.You can easily use Audacity or such like to convert the files you have. In Audacity export audio as 'WAV (Microsoft) signed 16bit PCM' & they will definitely work
Note: Most GTA V audio files (if not all of them) are Mono files. No need to convert/export them to/as Stereo.

@a63nt-5m1th I’m wondering if I really became interested in this issue and implementation.
After all, the game weighs 90GB. Something tells me that someone has already done it.

@es3rvake So you can put the game on a disc and do what exactly?
people on internet confuse me still(and real life people actually...)

I'm going to move some audio to usb drive, replacing it to symlinks.
Radios, CUTSCENE_MASTERED_ONLY.rpf, INTERACTIVE_MUSIC.rpf.
Somebody knows what is other files (starting from s)? e.g.:

@eddddddy I have removed and edited a good portion of sounds you hear when driving.

Everything else can easily just be removed from the sound file. I have an empty file that removes people yelling at you as you drive by. Following the same format, the audio size can be significantly reduced.
