Add - On vehicles?

  • How do they work? Are they really an "Add-On"? Or are they replaces? Im confused , someone help me

  • @Xranovision
    Some add-ons can be replaces but the vast majority of them (like 99% of them) are simply add-ons that add an extra vehicle for you (the player) to spawn & use or possibly insert it's name into 'popgroups.ymt' & have it spawn in traffic like a replace would. :thumbsup:

    Note: Just so you know, adding lots of add-on vehicles into 'popgroups.ymt' will at some point begin to impact your framerate. The same for non-vanilla replacers. Favour vehicles with LODS (Levels Of Detail) to reduce the impact. You'll find 'LOD' in the mod title if it has them.
    If you're just spawning the car as a player vehicle & not in traffic then you don't really need to worry about it. :thumbsup:

    The basic 'add-on' install process goes like this:

    • Install add-on folder (containing it's 'dlc.rpf') to the 'dlcpacks' folder here:
      ...\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks

    Example:
    ...\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\250gto62\dlc.rpf

    • You then add an entry to 'dlclist.xml'

    ...\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\dlclist.xml

    Example:

dlcpacks:/iaabreakableglass/

dlcpacks:\69charger\

dlcpacks:\mustangmach1\

dlcpacks:\250gto62\
<<< add line here above '</Paths>'
    	</Paths>
    </SMandatoryPacksData>

    • Load up the game & spawn the vehicle by name (with a trainer) using the spawn name given in the instructions/readme supplied with the mod. :thumbsup:
