  • Just Tried it!. Beta test swaying Antenna does work wow. just need to adjust the axis though.~! its cool.~
i read about it on zmodeler 3 forums here: Swaying Antenna topic
and here is the Video of my Beta Test. proof of Sucess :D sorry for the Music it was playing in the background, i didn't notice while recording. let me know what you think :D

    Below is the Successful Test

Below is the Beta Test [initial buggy]

  • @FoxtrotDelta that's pretty neat and definitely very handy for military vehicles. Does this work just inside the vehicle file or do they need to be seperate parts?

  • @SkylineGTRFreak i'm not sure, if i understood your Question Basically. but previously the antenna was named extra_2 [Dummy] i changed its Name to Bobble_head. imported Voodoo.ytf [since it has the bobble_base dummy} then exported the tank. in game the antenna started swaying. i forgot to adjust the axis initially. that's why the movement is too excessive. im going to test with proper axis tonight. hopefully it will look, realistic.

  • @SkylineGTRFreak It looks so much good and works flawlessly, with axis properly done~!
Just make a dummy Named bobble_head make it a compound and Place the objects under/inside the hierarchy. all the objects inside can have individual local axis, and they shall all sway according to their axis individual Axis.edit: Proven Wrong. objects can't have local axis. all shall follow main bobble_head axis. but you can have many antenna/swaying Objects :D hurray~

    Sucessful Test

Place it in the hierarchy like this :)

  • @FoxtrotDelta Somehow I only get antennas swaying according to one axis... Can you maybe send me your .yft so I can have a look?

  • @SkylineGTRFreak sure thing. axis thing is a bit tricky. i am messing with it as we speak too. i shall give it to you, in z3d format makes it easy for you and me both. wait 10 minutes though.

  • @FoxtrotDelta no problem, ZM3 currently plays with me anyway^^

  • @SkylineGTRFreak you are right. it does sway according to one axis. may be i jumped to conclusions so fast. still need the file? may be we have to use a trick here. but haven't figured out the trick yet. trying stuff.

  • @FoxtrotDelta for now I have centered the axis between both antennas on the turret, it kinda looks okay, but would be better if each had their own axis. Also looked into the track issue again, but I really can't figure it out

  • @FoxtrotDelta As you can see, the front part is still messy, but I have made good progress! :D

  • @SkylineGTRFreak awesome.~ i am interested in finding out the secret. how did you do it.? same vertex color?

  • @FoxtrotDelta Oleg has given me a tip what might be the problem. I experimented and now it works :D So what you have to do:

Work on your tank until it's pretty much finished and make sure you have a setup with the tracks like on the original Rhino (splitted into hub_lf, hub_lm1, etc and chassis).

Once your mod is done, export the file.

Re-import file, but make sure that "slice to parts" is NOT ticked:

Your model will be a single mesh with the wheel being a seperate. Now, either detach the track objects or leave them on, doesn't really matter. However, you will need to weld the vertices, so when you go in polygon mode and "select->seperated" and click on the track, the whole thing gets selected. (side of the track, top and bottom are still seperated, but each of those individuals needs to be welded to a single selectable part)

Once you're done with that, export the file and it should work (at least it did for me). Now my tracks are working flawlessy (ironed out the bugs on the previous picture as well)

  • I forgot to say: The tracks needs to have quite a few seperate "boxes", so to say. It won't work properly if the tracks is only consisting of a few faces. The more polies=the smoother is the animation in game.

  • @SkylineGTRFreak Got it. i already have the setup ready. on two tanks. but all of them [Hubs] used to move up and down seperately. looked ugly like you said. now hopefully if i weld those together. might give the result you have. i shall also try the exact steps you said. :) Thank you. and you should check the Private message i Just sent the Wiesel 1 both versions to you in inbox. Good luck.

  • @FoxtrotDelta @SkylineGTRFreak Did anyone of you manage to get multiple antennas swaying according to their own axis?

  • @Oskar there is another dummy bobble_hand you can use that. too i forgot the name of the car. the car that has the corpse [dead] zombie in the back.

  • @FoxtrotDelta Thanks, I got it! It was from the Lurcher if anyone wants to know.

  • @SkylineGTRFreak I had not seen this on the very good (tracks) THANK

    @FoxtrotDelta me ( tracks ) no work Tank :/
