anyone knows how to inverse mouse wheel?

  • Choosing a weapon with tab key, mouse wheel works in the opposite of my favorite control. When I wheel up the selected weapon number decreases, but I want it increases.

I don't see an option to inverse mouse wheel in the settings. I also failed to find out any mod to do this. Anyone knows how to inverse this mouse wheel control?

You can do it in Windows Registry by changing the 'FlipFlopWheel' dword for your mouse from '0' to '1'.

Before & after you change the 'FlipFlopWheel' value in Regedit, right-click the 'Device Parameters' folder (the folder that contains the 'FlipFlopWheel' dword) in Regedit & select 'export' & save them as 'Normal Scroll.reg' (Before editing. ie when 'FlipFlopWheel' dword=0) & 'Inverse Scroll.reg' (After editing. ie when 'FlipFlopWheel' dowrd=1) etc respectively.
Then all you have to do is double-click the 'Inverse Scroll.reg' & import it into the registry before playing GTA V & once you're finished playing, do the same with the 'Normal Scroll.reg' to import it into the registry & return the mouse to it's normal scroll direction.

Note: If you install a new mouse you will have to edit the 'Device instance path' (the part like this: VID_17EF&PID_604E\7&16a83a7a&1&0000 etc (it's different for each mouse)) in the '.reg' files, so copy & paste this post somewhere so you can refer to it in future, if you decide to go this route.
The '.reg' files can be opened & edited manually with any text editor (Notepad etc).

  • @a63nt-5m1th Thanks for your answer. Is there no way to make the mouse wheel work inversely only in GTA V?

There are no mods etc that do it, but you could create a batch file ('.bat') shortcut that automatically applies the .reg edits above & starts GTA V & then reverts those changes when you quit the game.
It's a bit more complicated than simple .reg edits & you would need to do what I outlined above (at least written in the '.bat' file anyway) to create the finished batch file. Once it was created though, it would be just as easy as starting the game normally from a Desktop shortcut

  • @a63nt-5m1th thanks for good info. :D
