Does OpenIV work for GTA Online?

I am trying to download some custom female hair for GTA Online using OpenIV. Looks like it has downloaded correctly but now GTA online won't run saying that the game has been altered, but the regular GTA V game works. Is it meant to work for GTA Online or just single player mode?
