Help With Mod Install, Please?

Hey all - i'm familiar with modding other games but am having a ton of difficulty with GTA 5. At this point, I can only get LSPDFR to run but none of the other mods I try to use (trainers, ELS vehicles, and other scripts) do not work. I've spent several days watching tutorial videos and reading documentation and am convinced I have everything installed correctly, exactly as the readme's say to. But things are not working. I've done a clean install twice and keep trying one mod at a time, but am not sure how to troubleshoot this. Yes, I have the basics covered (dinput8.dll and ScriptHookV installed).
Is anyone willing to help me or take a look at my game directory and help me understand what is not working? Thanks all.
