Rockstar Editor won't record

I just recently got a new laptop and was using my old GTA V build from a few years ago when i realized my game wont record for rockstar editor or at all.
I redownloaded the game and tested everything and it recorded fine. Now that i've installed all my mods and my the current build up to date with them, im back at the same problem. Can't record anything! Is it a online only thing and am getting kicked offline and thus unable to record? No need to play online, just SP.
