How to properly install the coop mod for GTA 5 story mode?

Can anyone run me through how to download the GTA co-op mod for story mode? My friend and I have been trying to download it for more than 6 hours but it never shows up when we click F9 and we don't even know how to host our own sessions for it since we can't play online w/ mods; can anyone PLEASE help? We're super desperate for help
