Looking to play GTA5:Online with Simple Character Body Mods

I'm looking to simply play the game with some of the altered character body mods or hairstyles for online player characters. However I can't seem to get them to work nor get online with them so far.
Is it possible to get online at all with these mods? If so, I'd like some help doing so.
If it's not possible, then a brief explanation would suffice.
I've tried looking for similar topics to no avail.
