Cuban 800 Propeller Issue. I need some help please!

  • Okay, so I havent played GTA V in about a year. I'm craving it again and would like to continue my game to get 100%. The problem is when I went to use the Cuban 800 for Trevor gun smuggling i noticed the propellers are messed up somehow. I didn't mod the plane whatsoever.

Anyone else having this problem? How do I fix this? I'd be super grateful if someone could help me or maybe look at the Cuban 800 in their game to see if its the same. Thanks guys. :) This looks to be a texture issue on the propellers.

  • Please can anyone just check the Cuban 800 plane in their game to see if the propeller texture is messed up? I'd just like to know if its just my game or if everyone has this issue. Thanks.

  • Hello Friend. I don't know exactly what problem you see, but in mine it seems to be the same.

Hey thanks for checking, much appreciated! Yeah yours is the same as mine so it means it was messed up somehow in an update. Looks to be a texture error unfortunately. So your post answers my question. Unless someone knows how to fix it, it will be stuck like that. Thanks again for the reply!!

I'm pretty sure the props have always been like that^.

The fact that the '.yft' resides in 'x64e.rpf' & not a patchday##ng folder structure suggests to me the plane has never been updated by Rockstar.
The cuban800 prop textures reside in 'vehshare.ytd' somewhere. If you open one of the cuban800 '.yft's in OpenIV & then deselect the 'vehshare.ytd' [-]' (green writing, bottom right) using the minus '[-]' symbol you'll see the prop texture disappear from the model (useful tactic for tracking down vehicle texture locations ).

I've now had a more detailed look in 'vehshare.ytd' & this is the part of the 'vehicle_generic_detail2' texture the prop appears to be using:

Yeah, thanks for the response. I am beginning to agree that the plane was always like this from old photos I have found. Nice find though with the vehshare file, I have never caught that before. Kinda lame though, I wish I could fix it because it looks dumb, lol especially when the rest of the planes are fine. Thanks again for your post!

Try this 'vehicle_generic_detail2' texture & replace the original in all the 'vehshare.ytd's you have in your 'mods' folder (all 'vehshare.ytd's in 'mods' folder need to be identical or you'll likely get texture glitches, you can find them all with 'Ctrl+F3' search box in OpenIV).

It will give you a prop that looks like this:

    Cuban800 Prop

Note: I didn't create this texture, it's from HD vehshare (2K Car Textures) 3.1
If you decide to use other textures from that 2K vehshare mod, watch it's a little old (August 01, 2017), so better to do it manually rather than using the included 'setup.oiv' (especially if you have other 'vehshare.ytd's in add-on folders etc (EMF has one etc)).
Either use the textures in the '-HD vehshare 1.3\opcional\files\vehshare' folder path or extract the 'setup.oiv' using 7zip ( right-click 'setup.oiv' > '7zip' > 'extract to "setup\ "') & access & manually install the textures on a texture by texture basis that way (use OpenIV to access & export textures inside '.ytd's & then install them manually etc)

Thats how the propeller should look! That is awesome, I will try out that mod to just fix the prop. I really appreciate you showing me this! :)

EDIT: I just installed the new textures and will be trying it out shortly. I only had to replace the texture in two places in my mods folder too. x64e.rpf and x64w.rpf so it was really easy! I will let ya know how it goes! :)

  • @a63nt-5m1th

Alrighty, just checked out the texture and it looks light years better! Thanks man, I appreciate ya figuring out a fix for this. The cuban plane looks proper now. :) I even made it into a mod to install later if need be, lol. Hell yes!
