Glossy clothes
-
So I have this problem for months now; everytime I convert a piece of clothing with 3DS Max and use it in-game, it becomes glossy after a while. I already tried to move the specular intensity slider all the way to 0, assigning and removing the specular map and so on. I paint the vertices the right color, and still, nothing works. I also don't know how to keep the ped_default shader, since it disappears after I export and import the model into 3DS.

@flying_bulletzzz It sounds like the vertices aren't colored correctly. This was happening to me as well. Unfortunately, I don't know how to color vertices with 3dsmax, I only use zmodeler3
-
@death7991 How does it work in zmodeler ? I tried it once but the piece of clothing gets the same shader assigned like 100 times and the skeleton doesn't work anymore.
-
@flying_bulletzzz you have to bind the mesh to the skeleton and paint the vertices
-
@death7991 Ok, so I painted the vertices in 3DS Max. The model is orange in the OpenIV viewport, which I suppose is the correct color, but the gloss is still there.
-
@flying_bulletzzz color the "Vertex Illum" black
-
@death7991 Nvm it worked. But how can I ,,embed'' the ped_default shader ? Because when I look at the default GTA clothes, they don't have a second ID under editable mesh in the dropdown menu.
-
@flying_bulletzzz Sorry, I really don't know 3dsmax that well
-
@death7991 Thanks anyways for the help.

@flying_bulletzzz One more thing; there's a weird checker pattern on the piece of clothing when I select a specific accessory. With lighter and darker tiles.
