Alkhalid 2. is the furthur Imporovement of Chinese Norinco Type99 ZTZ-99 Main Battle Tank by Pakistan Heavy Industries Taxila [HIT], Deployed in China since 2008. Alkhalid 2 uses the Same chasis and turret Design as that of ZTZ-99 From Norinco, But it uses Western Powerplant of 1500 Horse Power. which is a significant improvement over 1200 hp of chinese Original. Gear Box/Transmission is Automatic and of Western Origin as well. it has a crew of 2 people. and Ammo is loaded by an Auto-loader Mechanism.
The main armament is a 2-plane stabilized 125 mm smoothbore gun with a carousel-style autoloader. The gun may be fired under both computerized and manual control. The tank can carry 42 rounds including 22 in the autoloader. The rate of fire is 8 rounds per minute using the autoloader, and 2 rounds per minute with manual loading. The Type 99A2 mounts an improved Automatic Computer controlled 125 mm gun, Armor is composite and top secret. its armor is comparible to Russian T-90A and Western Challanger 1, C1 Ariete. it has options for improved counter measures and modular ERA mounted Extra armor.
