Which dlcpacks are required to have in mods folder (for Addon cars)?
-
Hey,
so Im new to using OpenIV and adding new cars to the game so I have a question about the dlcpacks in the update folder. So I followed a tutorial and copied all dlcpack folder (the whole update folder to be more precise) but read that you dont need all of them in the mods folder.
Im adding many cars right now and the amount of folders annoys me so which dlcpacks are necessary?
Im not replacing cars so I dont think I need many of default packs or am I wrong and it has nothing to do with "addon vs replace"?
If I can delete some (or maybe all/most) does the game run better/more stable with or without them?Thanks in advance for your help

If I can delete some (or maybe all/most) does the game run better/more stable with or without them?if they're add-on, the dlcpack is neccesary, that and adding the line to the dlclist.xml, you have to in-order to use it, It shouldn't really bother you that much though...but I'm sure there's some kind-of emf out there that can make it easier, I never used them so I haven't any to suggest.

Hey, sry I didnt explained good enough what I want to know or maybe I understand you asnwer wrong.
Im not talking about the folder with the addon car. I want to know if/which of the default GTA 5 dlcpacks I need.
In the picture below you can see my dlcpacks folder. I know that I need the addon car folders (eg amggtc, bmci, frr) but what about the GTA DLCs (eg mpapartment, mpassault, patchday1ng).

@zuim is all that in "Grand Theft Auto V > mods > update > dlcpacks" because if-so, unless mods are actually in those dlcpacks then you shouldn't have them there, you must've copied your entire update folder from your game directory into your mods folder, when modding you're supposed to make a folder inside your mods folder named "update" and then copy your update.rpf from "Grand Theft Auto V > update" and paste it into your "Grand Theft Auto V > mods > update" folder and then go back into your update folder located in your "mods" folder and make another folder named "x64" and then inside that folder make-a folder named "dlcpacks" and then place all your add-on dlcpacks there, or you can just delete all the other dlcpacks assuring they're in your mods folder and not in your vanilla folder...
I made that wayyyy too' complicated...

@TheHaqAttaq
Thanks mate thats what I was looking for.
As I said Im new to this so I watched a tutorial where the guy said to copy the whole vanilla update folder into the mods folder. So yes all the vanilla dlcpacks are in my mods folder now.
Wasnt sure if I actually need them because Im not modifying them so thats why I asked.Thanks for the help, now I know I dont need all of these vanilla folders in my mods directory, only if I want to modify them I guess.
