Mods Slow down game dramatically

The game will run perfectly at the highest graphics settings, barely denting my graphics memory. But as soon as I put script-hook in my game folder, the game can barely hit 30 fps at the lowest graphic settings. I haven't even put any mods in yet. I do only have 16 GB of ram right now so that can definitely be the issue, but idk why just script-hook would just break down my performance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That amount of RAM is plenty. What CPU and GPU do you have?

CPU: i7-8700 @ 3.5 GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GBThey run almost anything at the highest settings.

Yeah mods shouldn't be doing that on your system. CPU is better than mine but the GPU and RAM are equivalents to my own. I don't run everything at the highest settings though even though I probably can.

I've looked everywhere and I can't find any solutions. Does it have anything to do with the fact that I'm playing through steam?

@2random_words You sure about not having anything else installed beside scripthookV? From what I understand, it shouldn't cause fps loss because it doesn't do anything but allow scripts to be loaded and work. Now some scripts may cause fps loss. Seems like something more serious for you to go down to 30fps on the lowest settings.

Yes Im 100% sure. I deleted the game and erased excess files, reinstalled and double checked with a clean copy. As soon as Scripthook is in the game, I have terrible lag.
