Modded/Upgraded vehicles in traffic

  • How do I make the vehicles in traffic upgraded/modded (not modded like addons, but modded like in a mod shop)

  • @Hopnut
You have to edit 'vehiclemodelsets.meta' for that:

    ...\mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\ai\vehiclemodelsets.meta

Refer to my post here for some basic info on editing 'vehiclemodelsets.meta'.

If you do a gta5-mods site focused Google search for 'vehiclemodelsets' & my username (like this) you'll find a lot of other info as well.

Any issues/questions, give me a shout

  • @a63nt-5m1th so do I have to edit each vehicle individually to make it modded?

  • @Hopnut
Yeah, they need to be edited individually as not all vehicles will have the same upgrades.
You'll want to edit the 'CAmbientModelSet's with '_MODDED' in the name, but you can edit whatever 'CAmbientModelSet' you want & even add new vehicles (add-ons etc).

Practice with the 'LS_CUSTOMS_MODDED_SP' 'CAmbientModelSet' as those vehicles appear parked outside the LS Customs in Burton (the one near Rockford Hills, see pic below) so are easy to find & check the results.

    LS Customs Burton

Just drive around the block & back in to that^ area to get the 'LS_CUSTOMS_MODDED_SP' vehicles to respawn/change etc.

    Note:
Before editing 'vehiclemodelsets.meta' I would advise making a backup of the entire 'update.rpf' archive, not just the 'vehiclemodelsets.meta' file.
