Trouble installing car reskin mod

I've been trying to install a Dinka Jester reskin but nothing I do seems to be working. I followed the instructions on the download page to a T about 6 times and when I load the game and check my Jester I got beforehand it's still in its vanilla skin. The only thing I can think of may be that the instructions say to replace "jester2.ytd" in the specified file address with the mod file, but the first time I tried to install it, there didn't seem to be any "jester2.ytd" file in the first place, only "jester2.yft" and "jester2_hi.yft", so I just added the new mod file.

Dont spawn the normal Jester, You have to spawn the Race Jester (jester2)
