GTA 1970s-ish mod suggestions?
-
Hi, I reinstalled GTA V to try out more mods this time. I want to turn the game into a 1970s-ish era. I began with this mod that removes all modern cars and only leaves cars from the late 1970s and older behind > https://nl.gta5-mods.com/misc/the-seventies-1970-s-era-traffic-mod
Any other mod suggestions that give the game a more 70s vibe? I might add some classic add-on cars.

Next question, is it possible to add all those classic DLC cars into the traffic so they spawn randomly. I know I can spawn them with a trainer, but if they can be random in the traffic that would be awesome.

@PatrickBateman You can check these 2 authors for vintage addon cars. They are great and handles like Mafia 2 cars which is awesome
(Although while wondering in North Yankton, I accidentally fell to frozen river and the car couldn't climb the snowy hill, had to wait until air rescue arrive
)

https://www.gta5-mods.com/users/OhiOcinu/filesThis one spawns addon cars on traffic https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/dlc-vehicles-spawn-on-traffic
If you want them to spawn more natural way without additional mod, you can edit popgroups and add their model name at the vehicles category. Well it works but if you want a diversity, might not be the best way becuse of how shitstar makes their game spawning 10 same cars
I have tried editing vehicles.meta for each my addon car but it caused some issues like not spawning at all so I just let it be. If you have a good pc, you can bump your <VehicleVarietyMultiplier value to 2 or even 3 in settings.xml at your save file location in Documents. but I suggest not to exceed 3, even be careful after 2.Anywho. Found these as player character too. Might wanna check it out.

@Aurora11 Thanks for your suggestions.
The first thing I tried to create my 1970s GTA vibe was to edit the "1970s era traffic mod". I opened the popgroup file and added all the classic DLC cars that I could find, I will list them here below:

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>

<Variations type="NULL"/>
I noticed immediately that only a few of them spawned in the traffic... Most of the time I see the same cars like the Manana. You know, if this works properly I dont even need to add real cars because with all the classic DLC cars you get a pretty big variety of classic cars.

@PatrickBateman You are welcome :3 True. You can also edit your popcycle.dat as well. So those cars can spawn everywhere but my honest suggestion is it's a lot more complicated with the numbers and all that. So I would suggest you to edit popgroups only instead, just copy paste the cars you want at every category of veh_XXX. Like veh_poor, mid, rich and all that.
Of course there are many classic cars in vanilla game. Those addon cars are more tend to make the game environment closer to realistic

@Aurora11 I did edit the popgroup file but I barely see any of the added DLC cars. The traffic consists mostly only out of 5 to 7 cars. I need more variety...

@PatrickBateman https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/oiv-vehicle-template
Try this. Make a backup first. This mod standardizes the vehicles.meta so all cars have the same spawn rate. Some cars are just made to not spawn in traffic, with this mod whatever car I put in popgroups shows in traffic.
2 things to remember, you will probably need a gameconfig with a higher vehicle memory multiplier. Alot of my cars wouldn't spawn til I raised this. Also the game doesn't choose every car possible, if you don't see your car it probably isn't in the pool of cars chosen. It will eventually show up as the game cycles through cars. As far as I know, this can't be controlled. (game is more likely to spawn the car you are currently driving.)

@InfiniteQuestion I don't understand how to install your mod.
-
@PatrickBateman rename the zip to oiv. That will install into the dlcpacks. Drag and drop the DLCpatch folder into update rpf.
-
@InfiniteQuestion I don't understand, why do I have to rename bf3d97-OIV Template 4.0 to oiv? In the zip I find dlc_patch folder, another zip called OIV template 4.0 and Regex.txt.
I just have to drag and drop dlc_patch into update rpf?
-
@PatrickBateman its a template for vehicle modding so it's partially complete. You rename the zip inside the download to oiv to make it an installer. The DLC patch folder can just be dragged over because it contains no rpfs. DLC packs has rpf files making drag and drop hard, so this mod automates that process. Sorry if that is too confusing, manually editing the vehicles.meta file is the only way to get the spawn rates you want, this way at least does the hard work for you.
