*GAME CRASHING* Update 09092020 game version 1.0.2060.2 - ScriptHookV 1.0.2060 outdated

  • Hey Everyone,

So if you don't live under a rock, you probably have MODS in the game like myself. And after a recent update the Grand Theft Auto V application crashes, and this is happening because the Script Hook Version that was recently released (16 Aug 2020) isn't compatible. So if you want to fix this problem it is two options you have. The first option, is to go into you GTA V main folder and locate then remove dinput8.dll. (This will allow your game to run correctly WITHOUT any MODS) Now the second option is just to be patient and wait for another update to come out. The team that works on these Script Hook Mods are pretty fast about updates. So about a week or two and another updated version should hopefully be available.

  • There is a third option, play with mods and wait for scripthook....
here is my tutorial, spread the word on comments if you can jmontana046....

  • @djdmaze So the Rockstar Launcher updates the files as soon as you try to start the game, after doing this method. Do you know any other ways to get around this? And I sure will I know a lot of people that use Steam as well.

  • It's hit or miss due to R*'s devs, but I can sometimes take my PC offline and launch Steam in offline mode and launch it. Sometimes works and sometimes did not.

  • @Jmontana046 NO_GTAV_LAUNCHER or GTAVLauncherBypass

    let's keep this one open

  • I am epic games version 1.1868.4 using the -scofflineonly method. You need two GTAV installs in same folder. One vanilla which you keep updated. The other modded and with the "-scofflineonly" which you keep the same. You need to turn off "allow autoupdates" and "allow installs during gameplay" in epic games launcher. When an update rolls around you need to rename you modded GTAV folder from "GTAV" to something like "GTAV modded" and then rename you vanilla unmodded folder to "GTAV." Then you update the vanilla folder, launch game and then exit the game and epic games launcher completely. You need to copy the "egstore" folder from the vanilla and updated install folder into your non-updated modded folder and replace files. Then once again rename your vanilla unmodded updated folder from "GTAV" to something like "GTAV vanilla." Then rename your non-updated modded folder from "GTAV modded" to "GTAV." If you have the -scofflineonly in your modded folder and have replaced your modded folder's "egstore" folder with that from the vanilla after you updated that vanilla install, you should be able to launch your modded version once again.

  • What the hell did the game update for, anyways?

  • @mrwallace888 It fixed a well-known VRAM issue that came with the LSSS update which made the game lag a lot on some systems.

  • Is this script hook outdated problem happens because of the new update or Alexander made script hook that way? I mean why do we need him to update? Can't it just work? I'm just asking because I don't have any idea about code writing and I am just asking. Does anything change when an update come? Like a code that makes incompatible with script hook or something?

Clearly yes. Don’t know about the specific code, but I guarantee the updated rockstar .exes that come with every update have incompatible code. If he could make it universally compatible, I am sure he would.

  • SCRIPT HOOK UPDATE OUT NOW (9.12.2020) If you don't have Steam or Epic this video will guide you in the right direction!

  • well today they released a new version of scripthook, we can resume our modding
