I´m Working on a Realistic Gun Sounds mod BUT...

    1. Is there a way to know what the sound files are for each weapon? (I have already replaced some of them because they have a specific name but uzi and assault rifles use different sounds divided into several parts or something like that) I was reading in the forums that it could be done with CODEWALKER but I have looked for information on how to do it and I can't find anything

2.can i change the file size limit for the sounds?

    1. Some weapons sounds use other sounds to work (For example the Heavy pistol sound is just 50Cal pistol sound but modified) is there a way to make that each gun in the game have its own sound?

Hope someone can help me whit this, thanks.

Basically, you want to export the games '.rel' files to XML using Codewalker's RPF Explorer, edit them & then import them back into the game.
This tut covers a similar process of finding out where vehicle engine sounds reside & will give you the basics of what's required to get into the '.rel' files & edit them (there's other audio related tuts on my forum profile page as well, covering more info (click on my green username to access the links to them). They're engine sound related, but a lot of it will apply to any GTA V sound editing. Worth having a read of ).

Editing the '.rel' files you can direct paths to other audio files rather than replace vanilla ones, so not sure file size matters anymore? (just depends on how R* implemented it, only way to know now, is to test it ).

From the quick look I've had so far, looks very possible for player weapon sounds anyway, haven't sussed out the npc parts yet.

Took me about 2 weeks to reverse engineer the engine audio stuff (was just being thorough really), so might be a while.
I'll likely post a tut about it sometime in the next month or so, but feel free to investigate those '.rel' files yourself, some of it's easy to figure out, other parts a bit harder (mostly because they will require a lot of time consuming tests loading the game to figure them out etc).
All of it should be do-able though, with enough time

  • @a63nt-5m1th Thanks a lot, man, You just saved me a lot of time, when I finish the mod I'll give you credits for this
