Possible dinput8.dll Out Of Date

  • Hi All,

    I have installed all the latest versions of ScriptHook V, Scripthookvdotnet and Scripthookvdotnet2, as well as copied the latest version of my Update folder from my main GTA V game directory to my Mods folder. After this, my game would load fine in Story/Offline Mode and all my mods would work. However, although the game loads fine in Story Mode still, none of my mods work anymore even though they have all be updated. I suspect that the file dinput8.dll might be out of date, hence why my mods don't work anymore. Does anyone possibly know of a way to contact Alexander Blade, who makes ScriptHookV, so that I can bring this possible problem to his attention, as there is no contact section on his website?

    Thanks.

    @AGLGTA5M1 it's not outdated, you probably have a different issue

  • Hi again,

    I have checked numerous times. I DEFINITELY have all the latest versions of ScripthookV, ScipthookVdotnet and ScripthookVdotnet2 installed,, because I ALWAYS update them after a game update. This problem has only occurred after the recent update. I have even tried completely uninstalling GTA 5, removed the game directory and used regedit to make sure there are no references to the game in Windows 10 Registry. Then I tried reinstalling the game. I am not using the Steam version of the game. Still no joy. However, if you think there is another problem, Could you please advise me what it could be?

    Thanks.

  • If you want to know if dinput8.dll is working or not, check the asiloader.log file (I think that's what it is named) which is created by it.

    We're all using the same version from 2015:

    // GTA V ASI LOADER (build May  2 2015)
    //     (C) Alexander Blade 2015
    LIB: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\dinput8.dll" => 00007FF8617F0000

    And whatever Windows tells you, it's not the one from system32, but the one from your GTA root. And it should not be touched, or updated.
