A question about trainer.

I have read the thread "Frequently Asked Questions: General Modding" but there is one point that isn't clear to me.
Can i use a trainer only for singleplayer without get a ban from the online? If yes, what i should to do?

I've been using Menyoo (mod is on this site) for nearly all my trainer needs. Hasn't let me down so far.
Not sure about your mods online question as I don't play GTA online.
