Weight Painting in ZM3

holy shit i don't want to bother oleg more. that man has been through enough with me over the past week
but i have no idea how to weight paint in ZM3 and there's still no FBX support and the DAE i exported fucking breaks when imported into ZM3. i swear to god i'm trying shift clicking control clicking and plain left clicking and holding and dragging and i'm just making click and drag windows like an asshole. it's doing nothing. i look so fucking stupid and i haven't been able to find any accessible tutorials for any of this (massive auditory processing issues)
can somebody help me out
