dlclist edit still causing crashes
-
I've been having the same issue for a while now in which GTA crashes during loading whenever I edit dlclist. I've reinstalled numerous times, installed packfile adjusters, different gameconfigs etc and nothing works. Does anybody have any idea what could cause this?
-
depends what you've edited. Its unlikely that the dlclist itself is the issue, its more likely the mod that you're activating is the cause of the crash. You need to provide a lot more detail as to what you've changed in order to get reliable help.

@ItsJustCurtis It's not the mods as far as I am aware as I have tried with at least 20 mods, all separately tested.
From this latest reinstall, all I did was reinstall GTA and OpenIV, download a few car mods, put them in the correct folders and edit dlclist. Whenever dlclist is edited, it crashes, so I remove the edit from the dlc list and the game loads in. That's all the detail I can give because that's all I have done#.

Since the latest update to GTA, to use any modified clothes, cars etc (basically if its not a script) You must use a new GameConfig for the latest version, Heap adjuster and a packlimit adjuster. Without these even 1 car will crash the game.

@flappymeatflaps I'm not sure you understood the point of my comment. Simply editing the DLC list is not enough to cause a crash. What mods are actually being activated when you modify the list? As one or more of those mods are likely the cause of your problem.
Instead of modifying the list in one go to reactivate all of your mods together, have you tried adding and launching one line at a time as that will very quickly point to the issue.
-
@flappymeatflaps can you provide screenshot of you setup of mods folder and scripts in main gta v folder and the scripthook log files. Hopefully the issue could be found.
-
@ItsJustCurtis I did understand, hence I mentioned that I have tested each mod out separately with all yielding the same result. I only use car mods, so for example, I will add a Porsche Cayenne, going through all the usual steps in order to install it. Once the game is loading in, it will crash, but when I remove the edit from thedlclist, it will no longer crash. I have tried this with multiple car mods, all done one at a time to make sure that it's not a specifc mod causing the issue.

I'm having the same issue myself

@flappymeatflaps A clean install would be without the Native Enhanced Trainer (NET), without a Gameconfig, and without the adjusters. Just a suggestion, but uninstall those and try a non car mod that requires a dlclist edit. If that crashes at least you know it is not related to cars, nor gameconfig, nor adjusters. I would also make sure you have the latest video drivers installed - sounds trivial but it can make a difference. In passing I had a few issues with NET which I no longer use, just Menyoo as trainer.
-
@flappymeatflaps your mod folder setup. I don't see x64 folder in update folder (https://ibb.co/HrBCccH)
The x64 folder present is for audio files and not dlcpacks.

@ItsJustCurtis Lots of people have been having this issue since the last update, and yes, it's only a result of editing the DLClist. To the OP: the only way I've gotten around it is clearing all the Rockstar DLCs out of the list and only putting in the few cars you want. I also used an edited gameconfig, FWIW.
-
@PermissionToLand OP's problem started before last update.

Hello brothers. I have the same problem. If I remove the mods from the dlclist, the game loads perfectly. But since I add a single line of code, it crashes.
From my experience I will say, that it is better to wait for an updated gameconfig.
-
@JohnFromGWN I meant the last DLC, wasn't counting the recent bug fix update. Ever since the Cayo Perico update, this has been a problem for lots of people.
-
Ok so I tested one possibility and indeed it works. If you replace the gameconfig file that can be found in:
mode/update.rpf/update/common/data with the one available here: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars and you make sure that you have the heap limit adjuster along with the packfile limit adjuster installed in the main folder of GTA V you can play with addons again without crashing the game.https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/heap-limit-adjuster-600-mb-of-heap

@onigarobert I had it that way and at 5 min or 10 min I would come back and close

I have the same issue. I installed packfile and heap, whit a fresh GTA install. The game still crash when I edited the dlc list.
