Body under clothes?

Hi, I want to know that. Is there the character body under the clothes or the clothes replace the body part. For example, t-shirt replace torso? I ask because some glicthes that create an invisible man efect... but if you change the clothes they are invisible too. Thats why I think the clothes replace the body parts.
