game does not find addon

  • hi, I recently wanted to install a mod on gta, to be precise the audi rs6. i watched and read many tutorials on how to install addons but nothing, the game does not detect the car and when i try to spawn it it says that the vehicle does not exist. I will have redone the procedure many times but I still can't find the addon, what can I do?

  • @Terraxxx365 said in game does not find addon:

    audi rs6

Link to the exact download page & I'll take a look

  • @Terraxxx365 The steps are pretty simple for an addon, so just to check:

    1. Move the correct folder, to you installation folder, at: your path and \mods\update\x64\dlcpacks.
Mods can have many folders, for addons you want the one containing dlc.rpf.
You can move the folder as you would any normal file, windows explorer, or use OpenIV.

    2. Then you need to update dlclist.xml, the slash can be forward or backward, but use the author's instructions. If the line says "audirs6" that's what you will input to spawn the file.

Exceptions: I only found this with one addon where the model folder was incorrectly named and did not match the name in the dlclist.

  • @Terraxxx365 Ok, I hope this helps. I'm using Menyoo. You can use Vehicle Spawner or Object Spooner, select Input Model and typre rs62. Watch the video directly from Youtube for better resolution.

  • @Terraxxx365 nothing to do, I did the same thing but nothing ;( if you want I make a video and I link it to you here.

  • @Terraxxx365 That would useful but it might just show the error, not the cause. Can you send the link (or confirm) to the gameconfig file you installed and the heap adjuster as well? Those 2 files are necessary. A screen shot of your installation and script drives and mod dlcpacks would be nice too, just remove anything confidential.

  • @Terraxxx365 From your picture, the mod is in the right place. Did you also edit the dlclist.xml file, this is necessary so that the game loads the addon.
The gameconfig file and heap adjusters are required to keep your game from crashing - however they will not keep you from spawning the addon.
So please confirm if you edited dlclist.xml.

  • @JohnFromGWN I just looked at your folders and the structure is wrong. That's why it is broken.

Change your folders to be like this:
    Grand Theft Auto V
    mods
    update
    x64
    dlcpacks

You need to put X64 in the Update folder.

    yeah i edited it

I did it but nothing to do.

edit:I tried to directly modify the x64 folder, the original one of the game, putting the various files and every time I write `` <Item> dlcpacks: / rs62 / </Item> '' in the dlclist when I open the game this writing is deleted from dlclist. seriously, I don't understand what problem there is.

  • @Terraxxx365 Hi. You rarely need to reinstall your game. It's perfectly normal for Open IV to delete the line in dlclist.xml because it means the addon is not in the right folder. You shouldn't use the original folders. "When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses, not zebras"

Please send another picture, like the first one - i'm sure we can find the issue.
Also, please send a second picture that clearly shows where dlclist is, the one you are editing, not the original game one, in Open IV. Just to check the location, these things can get tricky but once they are setup everything will go smoothly hopefully.

    Cheers
P.S. If you are using the Steam version, do a verify integrity (not a reinstall). Sorry don't know the equivalent with the other version.

i will reinstall the game and see, i have it with the social club version

  • You didn't fix your folder structure. It's wrong, no need to reinstall. As in the reply above, your folders should be like this:
    \Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks

You don't have an update folder. You need to create it.

    1. Go to Mods Folder or preferably delete everything in your existing Mods Folder cuz it's a mess.
    2. Create/Add an Update Folder in your Mods Folder
    3. In your Update Folder put your x64 folder, also put the file called update.rpf
    4. In your x64 folder put your dlcpacks
    5. In your dlcpacks put in your rs62

Now go back and run OpenIV, and re-edit the file dlclist.xml if necessary.

Follow this to the letter and your problem will disappear.
There is another step, copying patchday24ng to your dlcpacks - but start with this and it will work.

  • @JohnFromGWN I also noticed you have a data folder in with your Mods folder. Delete it. It shouldn't be there.
The data folder is including the Update.rpf - do not extract it or move it.

You can't just copy files and folders randomly, it won't work. Delete your Mods folder and follow the steps above.

  • Greetings all.
I've spent all morning into this afternoon trying to get some MLO's to work.
I'm installing this one. Its pretty simple install yet I'm not getting any results when installed properly.
MLO Lost MC Bar The version of this mod I am trying to install is the SP version.) files to work and recently none of them are since updating scripthook/gta v.
My dlclist is edited properly, and the dlc folder is in the dlcpacks folder as are all SP addons yet none of my MLO mods are showing up ingame.
    I'm running FY70's latest gameconfig.

  • @V3ry_H1GH You can hijack cars in GTA V but you shouldn't hijack threads.

  • @JohnFromGWN lmao is that what I did? Well i thought I'd elaborate and share because I too have the same issue. Would it make more sense to just make another thread with the same exact issue?

  • @V3ry_H1GH No worries, but this particular issue is related to car addons specifically, not MLOs (which I've never installed myself). Also, the cause here is 100% clear - the folder structure of the OP is wrong. This should have been resolved a few posts ago, hopefully it will be soon.

Is this your first addon install?
Your images do show the correct path to the addon, however they don't show whether you have the full structure: Mods, Update, X64, dlcpacks etc, with update.rpf properly placed as well.

  • @V3ry_H1GH Going to install it. Will let you know.

UPDATE: I've installed about 50 addons, cars, peds, forests, racetracks, my own props, etc, and this had to be one of the easiest installs. But there were 2 issues. One was finding the stupid place, none of the NPCs knew where it was, and the map that the author gave didn't really help - I guess he didn't know there are coordinates.

The bigger issue is that the map isn't displayed. So looks like we both were unable to install this sucker. I added the coordinates in my screenshot. I needed to rent a GSX to find the place.

I'm wondering if it could be a cache issue - the old one still being in memory.

  • @JohnFromGWN yes, it is very odd! I notice your texture arent suffering as bad as mine. for some reason im getting extremely low quality textures and missing props. not sure what it is but I've contacted them modder. thanks for your insight!

  • @V3ry_H1GH My textures are the originals - no? I don't think anything loaded. What bothers me is that people liked this mod, so did they install it in multiplayer?
