OpenIV LOG is causing my game to crash???



  • Ok really weird one guys, I have just bought a PC and first thing I did was something I've wanted to do for a long time - download GTA V with some real cars and a graphics upgrade. I downloaded OpenIV, ScriptHookV, TrainerV, Reshade, GTA Redux, and a 1000+ car pack. After a few crashes at on the second picture of the loading screen, I managed to isolate the problem to about 7 files. Removing these files got the game to run, but only for a certain amount of time before crashing, depending on how much stuff I did in the game. After this, the game would always crash on the 2nd loading screen pic until the files were deleted again, I eventually managed to isolate it down to the OpenIV log file. I only have to delete that file for the game to run, and the game always runs provided the file is less than ~600kb. However, as soon as I do enough stuff to fill the log to a certain point, the game crashes. It's usually around 600kb, but my most recent crash happened at 900kb.

    I'm a complete noob to this so it could be a really dumb error on my part, but it just seems so strange to me that the size of a log file would cause this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.



  • @maxcsw maybe delete the log if u think that's the root cause But try check for error mentioned in the logs first, Both openniv and scripthook. Check for adjustor file and gamconfig. Try loading game without reshade and redux. Check for any conflicting mod.

    The thing that makes no sense to me, is all of these mods run fine in tandem with each other until the size of the log file exceeds 600kb - and in some cases 900kb, but never any other value. Looking at the last few lines of the log file doesn't really say much to me, unless you can understand it better?

    At the time I had just spawned a few vehicles and was testing them out, but making sure I only had 1 spawned at a time. I'd just like to stress the crashes in general have nothing to do with spawning vehicles, it happens anytime, during missions or whatever, it literally just depends on the size of the OpenIV log file.

    And of course, every time I start the game after deleting the log file, it creates a new one. Is there a way of telling it not to create one?



  • @maxcsw I don't think there is a option for stop logging that I know of but maybe there's a conflict of some mod I think. Though the crashing is weird.
