GTA V crashes with no obvious reason.

  • So I have a modded game. It has cars mainly. After playing for some time the game just stops and exits to desktop with no error code. I've never actually tried to play with no mods but no matter how many new cars are there in game(1 or 201) this keeps happening. Btw after an hour or so usually the car I'm driving goes to LOD_0 or something but I don't experience any stuttering. Anyone experienced this thing?

    Specs: RTX2060
    R7 4800H
    16GB

  • P.S. I'm new to writing in this forum so I apologize in advance if this is not the right section to write in.

  • You have HeapAdjuster and Packfile Limit Adjuster mod? And you have a gameconfig??

  • @LyKx I do. Everything is up to date.

  • @Medved
    @LyKx
i, too, am having similar issues. have 2 or 3 car pack add-ons installed, the heap limit, gameconfig and the packfile. game closes when attempting to load story mode, no error message. have switch around directX and all the same results. updated gpu driver no change.

  • @Medved did u try any other gameconfig ?

  • @Medved @tweatch_streamer gameconfig by F7YO? the pinned comment by the author himself says packfile is no longer needed. try launching the game without it

    traffic 1
    traffic 1 ped 1
    traffic 5
    traffic 5 ped 5
    stock (base gta v)

all produce the same results. i'll remove the packfile and will report back the results.

    same result.

  • @Medved Your crashes are a result of a bad mod, simply put one or more of the cars is causing your game to crash. Remove all of the cars or mods and install them or the packs one by one while stress testing the game after each addition. By stress test I mean driver around, shoot, and blow stuff up for about 45min or 1hr. If you dont crash keep adding another until a crash accrues. Then you will know which mod is the culprit. I had this same issue as you but then realized that not all mods are created equal or "well". Its a tedious process but its possible to have as many mods as you want "within the game's memory limit". I myself have 200+ replaced cars and about another 100 add on cars on top of texture mods and scripts and have not experienced a crash since I weeded out the bad ones.
