boot_2 or boot2 dummy in any vehicle?

    i was wondering if there is a vehicle with boot_2 or boot2 dummy. as saw trunk2/boot2 option in the enhanced native trainer.! any help is much appriciated :)

    So, Do you found this boot2 dummy?
    I have same question like you.
    There's trunk2 option in trainer, but I never seen a vehicle has boot2 or boot_2.
    Even when I working on the Project wipers, I never seen it on those 300+ vehicles.

    @Yoha i never got any answer too, i think some version of cargo bob or cargo plane had these doors. not sure. never found any vehicle. Please let me know if you do. Thanks

    For now, I checked cargo bob and plane, didn't found it.



  • I believe I talked with @PNWParksFan about this and he speculated it had something to do with convertible cars. Some of them use boot, some misc parts, whatever... Question is whether the actual dummy node is really called boot2 or something else.

  • I vaguely recall seeing these once, but have been unable to locate them on any vehicle when I went to check just now. :thinking:



  • @FoxtrotDelta Probably is a big mistake in the trainer, not exists that bone name in any game function to be handled and that means that was discarded or not exists in any vehicle:

    P.S. : Only exists another possible reasson to be added those dummy names and is how the script author named other vehicle components with similar behavior to boot and trunk, but is not the original dummy name.

    @PNWParksFan @Rarefacer as skylinegtrfreak correctly said above. it might be a different dummy name, but performs similar function as boot. secondary boot. for example for a convertible car or a bus comparments etc.

    only the trainer mod developer could tell us, why that option exists there.

    i Found the Boot2 Dummy!!!!! it is in sentinel2 vehicle ! found it as a coincidence as the vehicle i am rigging at the moment will use collisoins from this vehicle. lol. who knew! i am not sure if the trainer opens this one though!. Good luck only took me 8 months to find it :P

    and Look there are two more dummies Boot_l and boot_r ??? wtf!

  • @FoxtrotDelta Pretty interesting and looks like a static object, without flags for movement. Same with other boot_l & boot_r. The collision mesh always tell us wich part is mobile in the vehicle, and only covers the boot.



  • you can build a transformer with all those moveable nodes :thinking: i think boot2 tells the game just how to open the boot when you do the convertible option/feature. so the boot opens to the other side, when the roof gets to the trunk

    edit: when i try to add it to my script with VEHICLE::SET_VEHICLE_DOOR_OPEN only trunk not trunk2 is available, also back and back2 doesnt work with c# for me
