carvariations.ymt for addon vehicles?

Is there a way to add addon vehicles to the carvariations.ymt? I specifically want some of my addon cars to have some addon license plates I have installed. I know you can do it for vanilla cars in the carvariations.ymt file, but how would I do it for addon cars?
