GTA V crash after installing Liberty City mod
-
Hi,
I tried to install the LIberty City mod into GTA V. I followed every step correct from the readme:
-
1-Download the requeriments and install them.
-
2-Open Liberty City V Remix.oiv using OpenIV (select Tools > Package Installer, and browse for the OIV).
Select Tools > ASI Manager, and enable ASI Loader and OpenIV.asi if they are not. -
3-Copy the dlcpacks content to:
x:\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\ -
4- PART 3-ADD MANUALLY
With Open IV in edit mode,go to:
x:\Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64g.rpf\levels\gta5\generic\gtxd.rpf
and add the content from the folder "x64g" .Important for fix some textures.
See, not that hard actually. Then this mod automaticly installs Scripthook, NoBoundary, HeapAjuster etc. They could be outdated so I installed them myself. Now when I launch the game it shuts down during the loading screen.
My main map:

@WGotch07 said in GTA V crash after installing Liberty City mod:
@PatrickBateman Could be gameconfig related. Try an updated one like this or this.
Also, remove openCameraV.asi, it will clash with the No Editor Restrictions mod and NativeUI.dll needs to be in the scripts folder.
Omg, you fixed it mate. I used the Gameconfig.xml Tuners Update, it runs now! Another question before I ruin everything.
I want to get a 1970s NYC so I want to install > https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/the-seventies-1970-s-era-traffic-mod
This mod replaces popgroups.ymt, can I safely doing that without getting any errors? This mod removes all modern traffic and keeps only older cars.I'm not sure if it goes well with all these Liberty City mods installed.

@WGotch07 Yeah, I copied the file as backup, installed the modfile and yesss, it worked
Finally I can create a 1970s NYC setting.

I have a problem where if Im flying around Liberty City the game crashes? Any ideas whats wrong?

@Plabes-Amepamabes , @WGotch07
Unfortunately this might get complicated because i can tell you from my own experience over the last few weeks that there isn't one Liberty City Mod, there are at least 4 versions that i downloaded myself. There are likely more than that in the wild. They differ in size from 6GB to 11GB. Some are LC, some are LC Rewind, others are LC Remastered. They are packaged with 6, 7, or 8 dlcpacks. Some are bundled with Vice City or Vice Cry.
Installation can be manual while others are OIV. Some add asi map enablers and disablers that are installed in the root folder allowing you disable the entire map of Los Santos. Other differences include traffic paths and bridges to Los Santos.
I can confirm the following bugs with the version i installed manually. There is a bug in Times Square due to faulty textures which will cause a crash unless fixed. You can also hear the ocean throughout the map because it is set on the Pacific Ocean of Los Santos. This can also be fixed. The Trex skeleton in the museum was missing its complete head, i found a fivem package which has the correct textures and they worked with the SP version.
@a63nt-5m1th was extremely helpful in providing solutions to the bugs above.
Finally i found some areas are flooded with water, unsure what fix is. Have not flown much except for helicopter flight around statue of Liberty without issues.
Can you be more specific, which vehicle model and anywhere on map or specific area?
-
I think it’s just because they never designed the game to fly jets around so when you look at the whole city it’s too much for the game to handle and it breaks simple as that
-
But why are some parts of the city so empty or is there a way to increase pedestrians?
-
@Plabes-Amepamabes
Yes you can increase vehicles and peds, not sure how it would work with this mod however and how it would impact Los Santos. I keep mine separate (different mod folders). You would need to tweak either gameconfig.xml or popcycle.dat or settings.xml. Haven't had any need to do this so not even sure how.
