Please help

  • I install a wheel addon pack… the wheels loaded up and the game but the tires are chrome and not black like they should be how to fix the textures ???

  • @Losthegamer01 Depending on the pack you installed you most likely forgot to import the textures into the veshare or the wrong location.

    Cheers

  • I have installed the offroad pack I did the addon pack and I’m not sure where to put the texture files at he didn’t leave clear directions and he’s not answering back?@Zuraxo

  • @Losthegamer01
I took the liberty of adding the 'OFFROAD B-RIMS PACK Add-On.zip' textures to a vanilla 'vehshare.ytd' & uploaded it here.
As long as you haven't edited 'vehshare.ytd' previously & added other textures to it, it should be all you need.

    Install Instructions:

    • Use Ctrl+F3 in OpenIV & search you 'mods' folder only for 'vehshare.ytd'.
    • You should find at least two file locations here:

    ...\mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\vehshare.ytd
    ...\mods\x64w.rpf\dlcpacks\mpbeach\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles\mpbeachvehicles.rpf\vehshare.ytd

If those two locations don't exist within your 'mods' folder (as 'x64e.rpf' & 'x64w.rpf' are missing etc), copy the vanilla 'x64e.rpf' & 'x64w.rpf' over from your game install into your 'mods' folder & try again.

    • You may find other locations too, that's OK, just means a mod has installed 'vehshare.ytd' in a new location as well (EMF does that for example).

If you haven't edited 'vehshare.ytd' previously & find only two copies of 'vehshare.ytd' (in the locations outlined above):

    • Replace both of the 'vehshare.ytd' files with the one from my download above.
    • That should be it, test result in-game.

If you (or any mods) have edited 'vehshare.ytd' previously, or you find more than two 'mods' folder file locations for it:

    • You'll want to check all of the 'vehshare.ytd's you have installed in your 'mods' folder & combine all of their textures into one copy of the file ('Import' (top right OpenIV Texture Viewer) can be useful there. It can bulk import textures keeping the texture file name).
    • You then use that new merged copy of 'vehshare.ytd' to replace all the copies of 'vehshare.ytd' you have in your 'mods' folder.

So, basically, all of the 'vehshare.ytd's the game loads (ie ideally just the ones in your 'mods' folder (Note: don't edit vanilla files)) need to be identical to avoid texture conflicts like the one you are experiencing.

You want to make sure all vanilla 'vehshare.ytd' locations (ie the 2 locations mentioned above) exist within your 'mods' folder (purely to stop the game loading a vanilla version of 'vehshare.ytd' from the game folder in it's place & causing a conflict with any modded 'mods' folder ones you may have installed).

Once you have confirmed those two 'vehshare.ytd' file locations above exist within your 'mods' folder, all you need to do then is make sure all of the 'vehshare.ytd's (that exist within your 'mods' folder, however many there are, including the two mentioned above) are identical & contain exactly the same textures.

Ideally, your merged 'vehshare.ytd' should contain all of the vehshare textures your game & mods need to display in-game correctly. If you have two different textures with the same name, you'll usually have to choose between them (or change the name of the texture a vehicle uses using CodeWalker's export to XML, slightly more advanced stuff than just merging textures etc, but it is possible).

If you have issues, or you're not sure about it, grab all the 'mods' folder 'vehshare.ytd's you have & upload them in a '.zip/.rar/.7zip' etc to somewhere like https://app.mediafire.com & give me the link & I'll merge them for you & send em back etc (once we figure out duplicates & what-not)

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH YOUR FILE YOU SENT ME WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!! I appreciate your time and expert help @a63nt-5m1th
