Anyone Know What's Causing This Weird Sun Ray Thing?

  • i installed a graphics mod a little while ago and while it hasn't bothered me that much because the car i've used isn't affected by it but it used to show the same on street lights and other lights before but i removed the " visualsettings.dat " file and it removed them but now so far only on car lights are still there
i don't really know what else to try to change/remove

Have a look at the 'corona' texture in 'graphics.ytd':

    Often here:
    ...Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\update.rpf\x64\textures\graphics.ytd
    but if not then here:
    ...Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64a.rpf\textures\graphics.ytd

    Note:
If both file locations exist, replace the 'corona' texture in the 'graphics.ytd' in 'update.rpf', as that is the one that will be loaded by the game in that case.
You can also use Ctrl+F3 in OpenIV to perform a mods folder only search for 'graphics.ytd' to find all 'mods' folder copies of it.

If you identify it as the same texture, you can replace it with the vanilla texture from the game folder version of 'graphics.ytd':

    ...Grand Theft Auto V\x64a.rpf\textures\graphics.ytd

or if you don't like vehicle light coronas, use the texture from Corona Begone to replace & effectively disable the vehicle corona effect instead.

Alternatively, exporting the 'corona' texture & making it darker will make it less visible (continuing that, a pure black texture will make it invisible).
