How to use FiveM ymaps in Single Player?

Okay, so I have all the requirements for normal ymap mods and I have everything working, but many ymap mods I come across are meant for fivem and contain a folder named "stream" and are filled with multiple files such as ybn or ymf or ydr files, and contain a resource.lua. This is probably a dumb question but how do I use these type of mods in normal GTA? Do I just take the YMAP files from the stream folder and place them in my custom_maps folder?
I've had success taking a fivem type of file and turning it into an addon but that was a vehicle, and I am curious on how to make fivem maps work in regular gta.
