[Player/Script] Player AI?
i've looked around for years and have never found anything that would allow your character to be taken over using something like the ped or police AI for example, akin to something even like an autodrive type of mod where you set a waypoint and the character travels to it and would defend itself if under attack ect, the fact that i've never seen anything like this leads me to believe that for one reason or another its not possible even though it seems like it should be, does anyone know if anything like this exists even as a kneejerk or secondary function of another mod or possibly a basic explanation why its not possible just out of curiosity
@12d3 You're trying to make a player become an ordinary ped or NPC? Why? If you wanted that, you could just script any ped to do whatever you want. Once the player is taken over they become an ordinary ped. As the player you can choose third person or first person views - not sure i understand what you want to do.
im just looking for it for the same reason every mod exists, for fun and experimentation, i truly dont see why the "why" would matter ive seen a car that was just a giant dudes head with wheels and a personal stripper that follows you around ect ect and never thought "why" lol
@12d3 Let me rephrase what I wrote a different way. Suppose I'm playing as Michael but I would rather Michael be taken over as a policeman. That's what you wanted to do right? Well if that's the case, I start as Michael, change him to a ped and then script him to do whatever I want. In other words, I don't see the difference between the player and the ped. What you want to do can be done with any trainer or through scripting, no?
@JohnFromGWN so i probably didnt explain right and if anything confused you and anyone else, i possibly actually found the exact function I was looking for in the Chaos mod, specifically effect #26, autopilot, where your player is taken over by AI, it's not exactly it but it's a start, im basically looking for the ability to turn on an autopilot like feature akin to autodrive, but using basic AI functions that already exist in peds, gangs. and cops ect, allowing the player to head to a waypoint even on foot as well as the ability to attack or defend themselves even in rudimentary fashion, i dont know of any legimate way to currently do this using a trainer, im not looking for a preset scripted event if that makes any sense? and again as far as why or to what purpose, just for shits and giggles, the idea started as a joke between me and a friend about letting AI try to play though missions or scenarios and betting on the outcome and ever since i kinda actually wanna lol
@JohnFromGWN I think he means basically like, your player character completely becomes an NPC that is fully controlled by the game and he wants to just watch that character from a 3rd person camera.
I am thinking Menyoo but the problem is when you add an NPC to Menyoo's Object Database the ped just being stationary like it's AI functions are disabled.
If I remember correct, after you removing the ped from database the ped regains it's AI and just keeps walking, using random sceneario points too.
@12d3 I am not entirely sure will this work and I don't have the game to try at this moment but, you can maaayybe try this. First you need Menyoo. Then after you open the game, use Menyoo's Object Spooner with F9.
Right click to any NPC you want and select "Entity is in Database". This will make the NPC stop.
Then right click on your character and select Entity is in Database.
Then disable "Dynamic" and "Collision" options for yourself.
After that go to Attachment Options. Select "Attach to Something" and attach your character to the ped you to want to watch. (The one you added to Entity Database)
If your character's position doesn't properly attaches right on the NPC, you can move yourself towards the NPC with X, Y, Z options. Pitch, Roll, Yaw if needed as well.
Once your character is properly positioned, disable "Visible" option and this will make you invisible. You can also enable Invincible so you don't die.
Now is the problematic part.
To make the NPC regain it's AI, you need to remove it from Menyoo's Entity Database. To do that, right click on that NPC and uncheck "Entity is in Database".
Now the problem is once you do that this might detach your character from the NPC but you miiigght be stayed attached as well, I'm not sure. If you stay attached, then you can just watch that ped doing whatever he/she does Runs, shoots, walks, uses scenario animations and so on...
Though I don't think it will just get in to a car and drive then stop somewhere and get out. The NPCs getting on cars and driving away and the NPCs parking their cars and getting out are scripted events I believe and I don't know how to trigger that script for a character
