How to make weapon/gun mods?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good, up to date tutorial on how to make simple weapon mods. All I want to do is replace some of the guns with some random models I've found around the place. I found a few video tutorials around but they're all from 2015 and not really up to date or use tools that either paid for or no longer available.
So again, does anyone know a tutorial that will let me make gun mods?

@Rick_Locker There's really only two programs you can use to make weapons which are Zmodeler3 and 3dsmax and both cost money. As for the tutorials, there's really nothing that needs to be updated as the method from 2015 is basically the same.

@death7991 So there's no way to make weapon mods for free? That's a shame. Thanks for the help anyway.
