Where are the phone audio files located? (cab driver, 911 operator, easter egg phone calls etc)
-
Been searching in OpenIV for hours and cannot find where these files are located. I'm specifically looking for the audio file that plays when you call "Truthseeker" in-game on the cell phone.
Truthseeker: 273-555-0155
Can anybody help? It's for a mod I'm creating. If you can find the file location in OpenIV for this one, I'll legit send you some $$$ via paypal!

@Brandoman only @a63nt-5m1th will know.
-
@JohnFromGWN Ah okay, well guess we should ask @a63nt-5m1th about that
Thanks for the tip!

@Brandoman
Think I tracked down all of Ron's answering messages. Let me know if there are any I've missedansph.awc:
...Grand Theft Auto V\x64\audio\sfx\SS_AC.rpf\ansph.awc
-
ANSPH_BMAA_01 - Ronald Jakowski: "My answering machine is being monitored, be careful what you say, they're listening"
-
ANSPH_CLAA_01 - Ronald Jakowski: "Hello truthseekers, this is a facsimile of my voice..."
-
ANSPH_CLAB_01 - Ronald Jakowski: "...you've reached the truthseeker hotline..."
-
ANSPH_CLAC_01 - Ronald Jakowski: "...leave a message for the show, or for me, Ronald Jakowski"
-
ANSPH_DAAA_01 - Ronald Jakowski: "This is Ron J, I'm afraid I can't come to the phone right now, call back another time"

@a63nt-5m1th Wow how did you find these so quickly?
-
@Brandoman never watched the Matrix?
-
@JohnFromGWN Does a bear shit in the woods?
-
@Brandoman well then you should know how he does it.

-
@a63nt-5m1th Thanks! This allowed me to update this...
-
@a63nt-5m1th Do you by any chance know the location of ringing tone while calling someone?
-
@Aurora11 he knows everything, but you knew that already.
-
@a63nt-5m1th you just helped MAGA without knowing it.
-
@JohnFromGWN Haha I know
I mean it was metaphorical of course but that thingy is quite very tricky cuz I was even tried just emptying all of the awc files and that sound was still there lol
It feels like there are some sound files in game that is located in very nasty locations or maybe even their extensions are different.
The phone's button click sounds are same too.
Also the quick whoosing sound when you pass a car while driving fast. I was hearing that sound as well. It's just quite really weird honestly
-
@Aurora11 you really get the impression the game was developed in silos. For example with scenarios and animations there are often multiple versions of exactly the same ones under different names. The sound files are frustrating to play with when scripting, you specify exactly which one you want but the actual track will be random, but from the same awc container.
When i installed Liberty City the ocean waves could be heard in the middle of downtown! Because the map is placed in what is Pacific Ocean for los santos.
@a63nt-5m1th very quickly found the file and with rpf explorer it was possible to shut it down by setting the values to zero. I wonder if he secretly works for R*.
-
@JohnFromGWN Now this makes perfect sense lol
It explains perfectly how he just knows everything haha
By the by what is the location of ocean waves do you remember? It might give me an idea to start perhaps about looking those weirdly places sounds that I just can't find.

Not a sound file, rather a setting to zero out

@JohnFromGWN Yikes. Of course it had to be like this... Even more bullshits of rockstar....
I checked each one but there is nothing related to phones. I bet even if there was they would make their name like hash_....... because why not ..
-
@Aurora11
Nah, I'm not sure where the location of the ringing tone while calling might be.
Had a look for it, but no luck. If you removed all the sounds in all the '.awc's, then I would probably guess it must be built into the phone script or something.
