Windows 11 problems

I got windows 11 yesterday and I cant load any map editor files and all off my saved dlcpacks dont work any more. Any solutions?

@Zemandy3124 i don't use map editor but it hasn't been updated since 2016 so no surprise it broke. I normally upgrade windows on or near the release date but given i don't see any advantages, for my personal computing that is, I've postponed the upgrade. Given Microsoft can't even do a windows 10 upgrade properly after all these years, again it's no surprise they'll break things in a new OS.
You told us what broke, but what works? Unless someone already found a fix you'll need to research the major changes between 10 and 11, changes to gaming that is. For example DirectX.
Did dinput8.dll change for example. The reason im flagging this is because although it hasn't changed in years the dinput8.dll in your root folder, the one packaged with SHV, works with the one from windows. Im basing myself on the log files.
Also, and probably most importantly, do you have a clean install of Windows 11 or did you upgrade an existing windows 10 to windows 11. Is it a new computer. The reason im asking, even if not directly related to your mods, is that you will need to do driver, chipset, and possibly bios updates depending on which route you went. A new PC means a new GTA5 install, an OS upgrade means you might have to reinstall GTA5 to work properly on Win 11.
Finally what does saved dlcpacks mean, are those saves you did with map editor (never used it) or dlcpacks in general. Which gets back to what does work with your GTA5.

@Zemandy3124 Upgraded to Windows 11 myself, a few days ago. And no problems whatsover. Perhaps something went wrong on your end? You might be better off asking in a Windows forum.
N.B. Map Editor, while it can't handle thousands of props, still works fine too.

If it works for you, and I noticed there is an updated fork of this mod as well, don't know which OP is using, it is very possibly a permissions issue.
Given these mods write files I would check the permissions on the folders where it writes and also assumes the user account is still admin.

Map Editor uses ScripthookV directly. Since it's functionality hasn't changed in years, there are no new Natives it can crash over. So it still works. Menyoo is better, but best, of course, is to immediately convert any ME or Menyoo spooner file to ymap. And if the spooner file has peds/markers, etc, just leave those, and load the props via the ymap (also via same spooner file).
Windows 11 upgrade shouldn't touch any STEAM/third party folders. Ever. Possibly his Win 11 installed messed something during the upgrade. The OP should promptly check his ScripthookV/SHVDN logs, and see whether those even start.

@meimeiriver Windows 11 will not apply chages to any GTA5 files or folders but permissions are particular. Ive seen a few instances on these forums where users with admin accounts had problems pop up unexpectedly. Windows 11 might also have reset some user account permissions.
I know from my own experience that i have had to reset permissions on certain folders for certain apps, unrelated to GTA5, when there was absolutely no reason for it. Simple check, nothing to lose, especially if there is nothing he can do other than a clean reinstall of GTA5.
On a side note, i only have one Menyoo map installed, my own creation. I created a solid floor for collision and some solid walls. Out of curiosity, when i tried to convert it to a ymap with the mod, my floor which was hidden under the games carpet texture was now fully visible and the added walls were also out of position.

I'll try reinstalling gta 5 and see if that works
-
@JohnFromGWN @meimeiriver I tried reinstalling GTA 5 and map editor is working but the addon dlcpacks that I added through open iv still aren't working
-
@Zemandy3124 What kind of addons? Peds, vehicles?
-
@JohnFromGWN vehicles and buildings
-
@Zemandy3124 Well my suggestion is painful, but disable all of them (rename or move) and reactivate one by one.
-
@JohnFromGWN I tried that with a few of them but its still not working
-
@Zemandy3124 I don't know what to add other than go slow, google the issue. It could be awhile before the rest of us are on Windows 11.
And just for clarity, none of your mods work? For example trainers? Or is it just map builder and addons?
Also did you upgrade just your OS or the entire PC or PC components such as your graphics card.
-
@JohnFromGWN Everything works except for the addons. And everything on my pc is the original
-
@Zemandy3124 and your dlclist.xml is properly updated without syntax errors?
-
@JohnFromGWN Yes

@Zemandy3124
Can you post the contents of asiloader.log.

Oh, I had a similar problem. Firstly, make sure you have the latest version of the map editor installed. Try running the editor in compatibility mode for a previous version of Windows, such as Windows 10. This method worked for me, after I installed windows 10 with a license activation key. You may also try uninstalling the map editor and reinstalling it to see if that resolves the issue. Keep in mind that compatibility issues can sometimes be resolved with updates or patches from the developer. So be sure to keep an eye out for any updates or announcements.

I faced the same issue, and I've tried some steps, but nothing really works.
