The dreaded "Out of Memory" crash
So lately I have been getting the "Out of Memory: Please reboot the game" error at random while playing. I've been modding my game for some time now and I'm really trying to get it as stable as possible. I routed out some of the problematic mods (took about a month testing in and out). So I do not believe it is a mod per say but perhaps the size of my mod(s)? So by stable I mean get rid of this annoying error lol, if thats even a possibility?
Anyway, collectively I have about 500 mods or so possibly more I lost count. A brief rundown of what I have is:
-Replaced about 200 vehicles (note: all replaced models I kept under 15mb with almost all under 10mb with a couple that cross into 20mb but I edited the spawning of them to a minimum)
-I removed all vehicle_mod.rpfs so replace cars don't crash the game
-Forest of San Andreas (the revised lite version)
-Real California Areas
-About 25 quality of life scripts
-2 addon cars
Oddly enough I am using vanilla gameconfig (I experience the same Memory Error with custom configs as well). I have heaplimit, packfile, weaponblob, and all the other stability mods there are available. I will modify my gameconfig following this tutorial:
Hopefully this will fix things however, if I need to tweak the Heap or packfile inis my question would be, what is the limit cap that these can be set too without doing any real "damage" to my game? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I do not lose textures if that is a concern. No graphic mods other than Reshade. I have a very good rig and don't think hardware is an issue. I have graphics maxed out at 4k rez but l also want to note, in the game's Advanced Graphic settings when I try to increase Extended Shadow Distance and save it. After reboot when I go check I get the message saying Not Enough Memory and to change settings. I don't understand this and does this have anything to do with my issue? I have 10700k, 3080ti, and 32GB of Ram.
