Watching your own TV shows on Michael's couch
-
This has been done before but haven't found how to create a channel yet - although haven't really tried. Just did a first pass at creating a video and replacing a game video. Did not adjust for resolution or anything else, just made sure there were no codec issues going from (in this case) mkv to bik.
Will publish more as I work through this if anyone is interested. Will also search for documentation although it gets mixed up with creating videos for GTA5 which is a completely different topic.
Video below i just did a convert, all defaults (which explains poor quality), using RadTools and replacing vanilla.

@JohnFromGWN Dope! Keep at it. Let us know how you get on.
-
@JohnFromGWN Did you adjust it for time limit or size?
-
@BorkLaser no. I took a random but short video in mkv and converted it with radtools set to all its default values. Conversion is slow.

@JohnFromGWN Apologies if this thread is too old / discontinued.
If possible this would be cool to watch entire movies either on Michael's, couch or in the Oriental Theater.
Especially if there was a way to somehow hook up something like VLC player to the game screen so no slow file conversion necessary.
-
@gtavjamal I never pursued this but pretty sure it isn't possible without conversion to bik. Not to mention that's a pretty small screen to watch a movie. I rarely watch movies on my PC, instead I have my TV connected to my desktop both by hdmi to use as a second monitor and ethernet for the fastest connection if streaming Netflix.
The idea behind this was just for short clips if someone was making a machinima.

@JohnFromGWN Lol I got used to watching movies, tv shows etc on small screens at school in class lol.
Otherwise yeah if it home then yeah on big screen tv's fo sure!
As for the idea of watching within GTA V it would be more for an ambiance type thing.
