Making add on vehicles from replace file vehicles

  • I've been making add on vehicles from replace vehicle files using Add on Creator. When I actually spawn in the Replace vehicles I can change the wheels and other things. When I spawn in the add on vehicles that I created from the replace files I can't change the wheels or anything else.I'm guessing that maybe It's in the meta files or somewhere else, not exactly sure where or if that can be done.I'm wanting to be able to change wheels and other things on the add on vehicles that I created from the replace files.Yes I have been renaming the add on files to something that is not in the game.

For example there was one to replace fbi2 files in patchday2.I replaced those files spawned in fbi2 was able to change wheels and other things.

But when I make a new folder called bob(for example) using Add on creator then adding that folder to dlcpacks, adding bob to dlclist, and renaming the replace files to bob and adding those into the vehicles files. When I spawn in bob I can't change the wheels or anything else??

Not exactly sure where to look or if this can be done..

  • @hagar67 I think you might be right about the meta files. Try using the vanilla entries for that particular model. Find the section for your model, copy the vanilla lines, open the file created by the addon (which is just a generic file), and replace its lines with the game vanilla ones for your model that you just copied.

I guess the wheel section will be in vehicles.meta.

  • @JohnFromGWN
I copied the file from vehicles meta for fbi2 and changed the name to bob, still doesnt allow you to change anything.

  • I figured it out.You need a carvariations.meta file and need to edited that, also need to edit content.xml file, but it works.

  • @hagar67 good. Thanks for posting your solution.

  • @JohnFromGWN no problem thanks
