Changing color of clothes on add-on ped

How do you properly change the color of a shirt on an add-on ped? I tried changing an add on ped's shirt color through the ytd and it worked but then my game kept crashing. Thank you in advance.

Strange. Yeah dawg thats how I do it via the ytd and using Photoshop to change colors etc. When I re-import the texture I make it the same settings as the original texture.

@gtavjamal i will try photoshop, i used paint.net and it's probably what's making it crash

@IsabelleXoxo__ Good luck with it. On the rare occasion I might even use Microsoft Paint but for me the main thing is when re-importing the texture to use the same settings as the original texture otherwise it crashes for me too.

@IsabelleXoxo__ doesn't matter what you use but generally easier to export texture as png as it is less complicated than dds. You shouldn't have any issues.

@IsabelleXoxo__ I am just saying what works for me. If I want a mipmap number of 1 then I untick the 'Automatically generate MipMap levels' box. Otherwise any other number other than 1 I leave that box ticked. Sometimes when re-importing a .png file and if the number is more than 1, it imports as a different number to the original. I don't know why but it still works fine for me so long as the 'Textures format (compression):' is the same as the original was.

i just wanna turn her shirt from white to black, i got it to change color but my game would crash i think im doing something wrong

Ok try this, it works.- Use the Intel dds plugin, not the nvidia one.
- Export the file in OpenIV as dds
- Open the file in Photoshop but don't check any boxes, instead just hit ok.
- Make your edits. For the demo I just added text (should have reversed the text) as an example.
- Save the dds file with the defaults.
- Import back or replace into OpenIV.

@JohnFromGWN it worked thank you. my photoshop kept crashing when i try exporting dds file into it so i had to export as png but i saved it as intel dds file. does the mipmaps matter? i only have one now instead of 3

@IsabelleXoxo__ You'll have to test. When you open the file in PS, don't check any boxes, leave them as is. And when you save, use the defaults.

I literally just want to change the colour of a “young marine” ped’s clothing but I’m kinda scared I’ll mess it up could any give like a step by step? Or if this were to be easier I’d be happy to put a peds head onto a different ped
