Realistic Reload Mod - Not Working After Latest Update (Dre)!

As the title says, one of my favorite mods, Realistic Reload (https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/manual-reload#comments_tab) is no longer working after the latest update (Dre).
Someone in the comment section of that mod posted a supposedly updated ASI file from @alloc8or but that does not work - still does not reload manually - it just hangs where you have to switch weapons and switch back and the weapon is automatically reloaded fully.
This mod makes the gameplay immersive and fun and it's a shame the mod author is not updating it - he hasn't responded to anyone in a long time.
Can someone please update/fix this mod for the latest update?
