Safely removing (all) radio stations?
-
Can I just simply remove the .RPFs for the radio stations and call it a day, or is there something else I need to do?
Trying to gut my GTA V from unneeded shit like radio stations or DLCs I don't care about.
-
Well that was simple: delete/move all RADIO_INSERTNAMEHERE.rpf from x64/audio/sfx, and from packlist_rel.txt you delete these lines:
RADIO_01_CLASS_ROCK
RADIO_02_POP
RADIO_03_HIPHOP_NEW
RADIO_04_PUNK
RADIO_05_TALK_01
RADIO_06_COUNTRY
RADIO_07_DANCE_01
RADIO_08_MEXICAN
RADIO_09_HIPHOP_OLD
RADIO_11_TALK_02
RADIO_12_REGGAE
RADIO_13_JAZZ
RADIO_14_DANCE_02
RADIO_15_MOTOWN
RADIO_16_SILVERLAKE
RADIO_17_FUNK
RADIO_18_90S_ROCK
RADIO_ADVERTS
RADIO_NEWSWhich will prevent crashing due to GTA not seeing the .rpfs anymore. The result:
You just shaved 4.5GB off your GTA V install!

@Rstein Did that myself months ago but was disappointed that it left about 6 stations which i can't locate/disable. For example where are Blaine County, The Lab, Los Santos Underground...to name a few
-
@JohnFromGWN patchday3ng
EDIT: Just deleted the Replay Editor music, seems to work fine.
-
@Rstein Thanks will check the patch but I think the DLC needs to be removed as well?
-
@JohnFromGWN Nope, deleting the files and lines in the .meta worked fine for me.
-
@Rstein Patchday3ng did not fully work for me. Only removed the Lab.
Remember that for some radio stations, you need to be in that county for them to appear or replace another station.
I still have Blaine County, Los Santos Underground, iFruit Radio, Worldwide, and Blonded.
Overall it's a bloody mess. I got some good feedback from @a63nt-5m1th which i need to explore when i have the time:
Los Santos Underground is in 'mpbattle' in the 'dlc_battle_music' folders for the songs:
...\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpbattle\dlc.rpf\x64\audio\sfx\dlc_battle_music
&
...\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpbattle\dlc1.rpf\x64\audio\sfx\dlc_battle_music
& might be some other LSU Radio audio in here too (mixed with other tracks etc):
...\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpbattle\dlc.rpf\x64\audio\sfx\dlc_battle
iFruit Radio is here (mixed in with other sounds also):
\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpheist3\dlc.rpf\x64\audio\sfx\dlc_heist3
-
Blonded is in :
\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mpchristmas2017\dlc.rpf\x64\audio\sfx\dlc_christmas2017
as the files :
radio_xm17_p1.awc
radio_xm17_p2.awc
radio_xm17_p3.awc
