How to custom ambient sound
How i can make custom ambient sound for an addon car ?
I've downloaded addon car ans opened it's rpf but I didn't understand what is that...
So if anyone can help me to learn how to make ambient sound I'll be thankful
If you mean create a custom engine sound for a vehicle, here are some tutorials that will help:
[ Tutorial ] - How to find the engine sound ('.awc') file for any vehicle
[ Tutorial ] - How to increase/decrease the volume of vehicle engines (without editing the '.awc' audio files)
[ Tutorial ] - How to create your own non-vanilla add-on engine sounds dlc
Whatever vehicle sound you want to create/edit, you'll be able to get the basic process from those tuts, but let me know what you mean by "ambient sound" if you don't mean the engine sound?
Also, if required, feel free to post a link to the add-on vehicle you downloaded & give me a more detailed explanation of what it is you want to do with it's sound, & I'll download it & see what's in the dlc & be able to give you more specific instructions etc.
Thanks for your reply!!
this is the addon vehicle :
and this is my addon that i want to make sounds for

i mean like ice cream truck sounds when you press "E" to horn it starts playing music
The sounds that play when you press the horn on the Mr Tasty are these ones:
They are stored in both 'ambient_mrtasty.awc' & 'mrtasty.awc', but I think it's just the ones in 'mrtasty.awc' used for the horn. They are both identical copies of them in both locations, so if editing 'mrtasty.awc' ones doesn't work, replace the ones in 'ambient_mrtasty.awc' as well etc, but I think the 'ambient_mrtasty.awc' ones are just for playing the sounds when the Mr Tasty is spawned in certain locations using a scenario.
The problem you will likely run into is finding a way to get the game to play any '.midi' files you edit/create. After exporting the '.awc files to openFormats, I tried using Audacity to simply import & then export (no changes) the mr tasty original '.midi' files & test them in-game, but no audio then played when I hit the horn . I've tried a few different midi apps, but none of them have worked (all silent audio in-game).
So yeah, your first step will be finding a way to get any edited '.midi' files to play in-game. I have no idea what is required there. Best bet is to try contacting mod authors who have released '.midi' files & find out how they did it. To test any results, do what I did & import the original mrtasty ones & then save/export them without making any edits/changes, reinstall them & see if they play in-game.
@a63nt-5m1th if the midi is playable on the PC, then why not just record the output using Audacity or even OBS as you would record any desktop sound output. Once captured, then use Audacity or another software to convert from wav or mp3 to awc. Would that work.? Same would apply to recording awc played in OpenIV or whatever.
I'll try me best to find a way to get any edited '.midi' files to play in-game and i'll tell you
Might well work just using '.wav's instead of '.midi' files (I'll try that, cheers ).
yes please try if it possible to use .wav instead of .midi it will be better
Simply editing the '.oac/.awc' to use '.wav's instead of '.midi' files doesn't work . All you get is a standard horn sound instead.
Would either require some major '.rel' editing, or perhaps horns etc have to be in midi format to work.
Either way, probably easier to figure out how to just use midi. As mentioned, other mod authors appear to have done it, so it looks possible. Just need to find the right software, or figure out the exact prerequisites for GTA V midi files.
@a63nt-5m1th Sound files are a bitch, right?
Especially these ones. There's like zero information out there about GTA V & it's Midi files.
Your best bet is to try contacting mod authors that have released Midi files & see how they have done it. Contact the Mr Tasty mod author anyway, he at least has been active somewhat recently & should hopefully know what is required (unless he just copied vanilla midi files from somewhere else in the game etc).
If you figure out how to get midi files to play/have sound in-game, the rest will be relatively easy.
Unfortunately, he does not reply but I'll keep contacting him
I have an idea what if i chosen one of those midi's included in mod and replaced every othe midi with so all of them will be the same sound and horn it in game 🤔
If that worked then the game has it's own midi format cause he used GTA IV vanilla midi's
Btw is it possible to the same thing but using .wav sounds? I mean if we forgot about midi and tried to do the same thing but using .wav
Contact him on his discord, that's your best chance of a reply.
If you take your Hyundai Porter '.yft' & '.ytd', rename them 'mrtasty' & then copy any '.meta' data for the Hyundai Porter you need over into the 'mrtasty' meta files etc, it will gain the full functionality of the 'mrtasty', including the horn. Obviously, that would just be for personal use, you couldn't release it without the mrtasty mod author's permission if you include any of his files.
I previously took the largest & longest of the midi files & renamed it to all of the others & replaced them & that worked in-game. So using that method it's entirely possible to choose which of the mrtasty musical horn sounds you want active. I have also thrown the original mrtasty midi files into Winamp & saved them using the 'view file info' (Alt+3) functionality & they work ingame as well. Just any new midi file I add doesn't work with either of those methods, for some reason.
The MrTasty has a pretty complicated & completely unique '.rel' setup, it doesn't appear in the vanilla game (unless you know of a vehicle with multiple random musical horns?) & is completely designed by mrtasty mod author from scratch from what I can see. I'm not sure if '.wav's are possible or not. I won't be of much help tbh, I've never even looked at horn sounds before & don't have enough free time to investigate it. You'll just have to look at vanilla vehicles in the '.rel' files & see what you can figure out.

The GTA5 Discord server experience lives up to the definition of Discord, no? Perfect medium for the most toxic aholes in the community. Arrogant, of no help, totally useless and poor excuses for human beings. Well that's been my very limited experience with them.
"discord, strife, conflict, contention, dissension, variance mean a state or condition marked by a lack of agreement or harmony. discord implies an intrinsic or essential lack of harmony producing quarreling, factiousness, or antagonism. a political party long racked by discord strife emphasizes a struggle for superiority"
Yeah, not a fan. Don't believe it helps a modding community grow when you isolate groups of people & obfuscate information behind a sign-up process & a mass of (mostly useless) message chat.
@a63nt-5m1th Yep. Gotta love those servers where there are 200 channels when 1 would suffice, complete with the cutest anime emojis....makes me wanna barf.
